30th Dhaka International Trade Fair to start on January 1: Chief Advisor will inaugurate the trade fair

The 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2026 will start on January 1 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the trade fair.

Today, Monday (December 29, 2025), Commerce Ministry Secretary Mahbubur Rahman made these remarks at a press conference on organizing DITF-2026 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center.

EPB Vice Chairman Mohammad Hasan Arif, Additional Secretary (Export) of the Commerce Ministry Abdur Rahim Khan and EPB Director General Baby Rani Karmakar were present at the event. The Commerce Secretary said at the event that stall/pavilion spaces of various categories have been allocated online in this year’s trade fair. E-ticketing (in addition to the on-spot ticket purchase system, online ticket purchase and entry to the fair by scanning the QR code) has been arranged.

He said, this time, for the convenience of buyers and visitors, a ‘Pathao’ service at concessional rates is being added along with the BRTC’s dedicated bus service. An ‘Export Enclave’ has been built to project the capabilities of various activities of the Export Promotion Bureau and export sectors. At this year’s trade fair, Bangladesh Square has been built to display still images in memory of the Language Movement of 1952, the Great Liberation War of Bangladesh and the July Movement of 2024. Initiatives have been taken to organize seminars based on potential sectors at the fair.

There will be an electronics and furniture zone for the convenience of foreign entrepreneurs/institutions. A seating corner has been created for senior citizens. There will be 2 children’s parks at the fair for the peaceful entertainment of children. There will be an open cultural center at the fair. Reserved stalls have been allotted to women, disabled, cottage/loom/textile/handicraft entrepreneurs.

The use of polythene bags and single-use plastic has been banned in this year’s fair. As an alternative, eco-friendly shopping bags will be provided at a reduced price through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

In addition, various arrangements including seminars/cultural programs will be held throughout the month-long fair to encourage youth energy and innovative initiatives.

The trade fair is going to be held for the fifth time at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. According to the layout plan of the fair, 324 pavilions/stalls/restaurants of different categories, including domestic manufacturing-exporting companies, general business organizations and foreign companies, have been allotted stalls.

Local textiles, machineries, carpets, cosmetics and beauty aids, electrical and electronics, furniture, jute and jute products, household goods, leather/artificial leather and leather products including shoes, sports goods, sanitaryware, toys, stationery, crockery, plastic, melamine polymer, herbal and toiletries, imitation jewellery, processed food, fast food, handicraft products, home décor etc. will be exhibited at the fair this time.

Bangladesh Square has been set up on the south-east side of the centre, Cultural Centre, Recreational Corner on the south-west side and 2 children’s parks on the north-east side of the centre and Mosque/prayer room on the north-west side.

There will be sufficient number of ATM booths at the fair for banking services. There will be a Mother and Child Centre at the fair for mothers and children. Apart from this, other essential services like blood collection center, mosque, comfortable and elegant chairs for visitors to rest, sitting corner for senior citizens etc. have been arranged.

For the convenience of general visitors to the fair, more than 200 dedicated shuttle buses of BRTC will run from Kuril Bishwa Road, Farmgate (Khejur Bagan/Khamarbari), Narayanganj and Narsingdi every day from 8 am for the purpose of trade fair. The last trip of the shuttle bus will leave from the fair premises at 11 pm. According to the fixed fare, the fare from Farmgate (Khejur Bagan/Khamarbari) to the fair premises is 70 taka, from Kuril Bishwa Road 40 taka, from Chashara 120 taka, from Muktarpur 130 taka, from Narsingdi 100 taka and from the fair premises to the signboard 100 taka (per person) has been fixed. Apart from this, special initiatives have also been taken through Pathao apps for low-cost passenger transport. The ticket price for the fair (per person) is Tk: 50.00 (adults) and Tk: 25.00 (twenty-five) for children (below 12 years). However, freedom fighters, the disabled and those injured in July will be able to enter the fair for free by showing their cards. As usual, the fair will run from 9:55 am to 9:50 pm throughout the month (until 10 pm on weekends).

The Dhaka International Trade Fair has been organized since 1995 under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau with the aim of providing support in the promotion, expansion, marketing and production of domestic products as well as creating employment opportunities.

To ensure the overall security of the fair and the safety of visitors, a sufficient number of police, armed police battalions, RAB, intelligence agencies and other law enforcement agencies will be deployed at the fair premises. The police, RAB, and the army will patrol the fair premises and outside the premises regularly. In addition, private security guards have been appointed to maintain order at the service gate and VIP gate. Considering security priority, various important places of the fair premises, entry gates, parking areas and all related areas have been cordoned off.

The required number of CCTVs have been installed in Dhaka. In addition, the required number of archways and metal detectors have been arranged at the entrance gate of the fair. Similarly, the fire brigade will be deployed at the fair round the clock to prevent any kind of fire accident.

The issue of cleanliness has been considered with greater importance in this year’s fair. In addition to the adequate number of separate toilets for men and women in the exhibition hall, there are also sufficient number of toilets outside the exhibition hall. More than two hundred cleaning workers will be deployed round the clock to keep the fair premises clean.

To control the quality of food products at the fair, a team formed under the leadership of the Executive Magistrate and including members of the law enforcement agencies will operate an anti-adulteration mobile court every day during the fair. Premier restaurants/premier mini restaurants/coffee shops have been allotted to 5 establishments at the fair.

In addition, there is a cafeteria with 500 seats inside the exhibition center of the fair so that visitors can eat quality food in a nice environment at a fixed price. A doctor and patient care attendant will be present round the clock to provide free first aid and medical advice to visitors arriving at the fair.

The fair will have adequate car parking facilities. In addition to the two-story car parking building with parking facilities for more than 500 cars, 3 large parking lots have been arranged on 6 acres of land outside the exhibition hall and 3 large parking lots including the RAJUK cattle market. A temporary secretariat has been set up at the fair to monitor the overall activities of the fair and an information center to provide all kinds of information to visitors.
