The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated Shama Obaid for Faridpur-2 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections. She is currently serving as the BNP’s Organizing Secretary and a member of the Chairperson’s Special Assistant Advisory Committee on Foreign Policy.
Shama Obaid is the daughter of late BNP Secretary General and former minister KM Obaidur Rahman. Apart from being an important central leader of the party, Shama Obaid has been working as a politically active and well-known face in the Faridpur region for a long time. She often represents the party in various international forums and participates in meetings with foreign diplomats.
After the announcement of her candidacy, there has been a renewed enthusiasm among BNP leaders and activists in the area.
