Returning to the country after almost 17 years, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is going on a tour outside Dhaka this time. He will visit four northern districts on his first tour.
A series of programs have been taken to visit these districts from January 11 to 14. BNP has written a letter to the government seeking overall security for this tour.
A press release sent from the BNP Chairperson’s office on Wednesday (January 7, 2026) said that the tour has been organized to visit the graves of the slain July fighters and martyrs of the long democratic movement and to participate in a prayer program organized to seek forgiveness for the departed soul of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
