BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman said that BNP has practical experience in running the country and the party wants to take a hand in the work of rebuilding the country by using that experience. He said that if BNP comes to power, an effective and responsible government will be formed by giving importance to the expectations of the people.

He said these things at an election road meeting organized in Banani, the capital, on Monday (February 9, 2026).
Tarique Rahman said that people’s expectations naturally increase around elections. As a big political party, people from all over the country have high expectations of BNP. Keeping that expectation in mind, BNP has formulated its election manifesto and programs in a planned manner. At the road meeting, he highlighted the importance of family cards and agricultural cards and said that practical steps will be taken to improve the living standards of the common people through these programs.

Referring to his family ties with Banani, Tarique Rahman said that Banani area is where he and his brother grew up and where they were born. Their families and children were also born in this area. As a result, their relationship with the people of this area is not only political, but also deeply family, mental and spiritual.

He also said that the former BNP Chairperson, the late Begum Khaleda Zia, also spent a long time of her life in the Banani area. That is why their relationship with the people of Banani is very strong in terms of emotion, faith and trust.

Tarique Rahman said that specific programs are being implemented at the field level to make the paddy field victorious in the upcoming elections to be held on February 12. He also expressed hope that if the government is formed, effective initiatives will be taken to improve the living standards of people of all classes and professions.
