Dhaka rejects India’s press note on protests in New Delhi: Foreign Affairs Advisor

Bangladesh has unequivocally rejected a press note issued by India on the alleged protests held at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi. At the same time, Dhaka has raised serious security lapses as to how the protesters were able to enter the highly secured diplomatic area.

Foreign Affairs Advisor Towhid Hossain told reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Sunday (December 21, 2025) afternoon, “We completely reject the issue of that press note from India. The issue has been presented as if it is a very common incident, but in reality it is not. Our mission is located deep inside the diplomatic area, not in any way in the peripheral area.”

He said that the issue has been oversimplified in the Indian press note, whereas the Bangladesh Mission in New Delhi is located deep inside a highly sensitive and fully secured diplomatic area.

The foreign affairs adviser questioned how a group of 25 to 30 people, described as members of a radical Hindu organisation, were able to enter such a sensitive area. He said that under normal circumstances, it would not be possible to reach there without permission.
