On Tuesday (January 6, 2026) evening, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara.
During the meeting, which was held in a very sincere and cordial atmosphere, various important issues including the overall stability, security and education-friendly environment of Dhaka University were discussed in view of the upcoming national elections.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor shed light in detail on maintaining a peaceful environment on the university campus during the pre-election period, ensuring the safety of students, continuous progress of education and research activities, ongoing development projects and various initiatives taken for the welfare of students.
In this context, the Honorable Ameer-e-Jamaat said that it is very important to maintain stability and a peaceful environment in Dhaka University, the highest university of the country, at this important time in national life. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that education, research and the future of students are not disrupted in any way.
He further said that constructive and positive cooperation from our side will continue, God willing. He expects all parties to play a responsible role for the welfare of the country, education and the young generation.
