The entire Muslim world, including Bangladesh, is celebrating Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) with religious fervor and due dignity today, Saturday, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. On this day in 570 AD, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was sent as a mercy to mankind, was born in the lap of his mother Amina in the noble Quraysh clan of Mecca, Arabia. His father’s name was Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib. After fulfilling his mission, he passed away on the same date in 632 AD at the age of 63.
The government, various political parties and organizations have taken various programs to celebrate Eid-e-Miladunnabi with due religious fervor. These programs included discussions on the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Milad and Dua Mahfil.
On the occasion of the holy day, extensive programs have been organized across the country, including a fortnight-long program at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, under the initiative of the Islamic Foundation (IFA).
