Eight members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) were injured on Wednesday (August 27, 2025) afternoon when they prevented BUET students, who were protesting for three-point demands, from going towards Jamuna towards the residence of the chief advisor.
The injured policemen have been admitted to Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital for treatment. Two of the injured are in critical condition.
The injured are – DMP Ramna Zone DC Masud Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) Rejoanul Islam (37), SI Touhidul Islam, ASI Farhad Ali (29), Constable Adib (22), Constable Aminul Islam (20) and Constable Shraban (20). Among them, Touhidul Islam and Adib are in critical condition.
