Home Minister Salahuddin said, politics is not a static matter, it is dynamic. Therefore, political parties should change their election manifestos according to people’s expectations, aspirations, time and needs of youth. Not only the election manifesto, but also the goals and objectives and declarations of political parties are changeable according to people’s expectations, aspirations, time and needs of youth.
The minister said this while delivering a welcome speech at a discussion meeting and iftar mahfil organized on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) at the Dhanmondi Abahani Club Ground in the capital on Saturday (February 28, 2026).
The minister said, I became optimistic the day NCP’s journey as a political party began in the democratic field. He said, the participation of youth in politics will give us more dignity; will give much more momentum to the politics of this country; The country will move forward by embracing the needs of the youth. He expressed optimism and said that as a new political party, the NCP has been able to come a long way on this path. He also said that the NCP won six seats in the National Assembly elections by participating as an alliance through electoral agreements in politics. Perhaps they will ascend to state power someday as these six seats increase.
The minister also said that in the turbulent field of politics, everyone accepts ups and downs. Those who did not accept these ups and downs did not survive in politics. The current and future generations want a political environment in which those who will embrace the needs of the people in politics and uphold the needs of the people and encourage all the people of this country to participate in politics. He said that those who truly represent the people of this country, embrace the aspirations of the people of this country, and implement the expectations and aspirations of the students and the people in the July 2024 mass uprising, the NCP will do such politics. He also said, we are encouraged by seeing their election manifesto, I have read the entire manifesto very carefully.
Calling on everyone to be united in the national interest, Salahuddin Ahmed said, there will be arguments and debates in the National Parliament but we will be united in the national interest. The minister said, we will make the National Parliament the center of discussion. He said, we will give a solution to the nation through discussion and debate on all issues there.
The minister later participated in the Iftar and Doa Mahfil organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
