Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hassan Mahmud said that the government’s decision to ensure uninterrupted power supply during summer and irrigation season will be implemented with the cooperation of businessmen.
The minister made this call to representatives of business organizations from all over the country at a view-sharing meeting organized at Bijoy Hall of Bidyut Bhaban on Saturday (April 04, 2026) to ensure uninterrupted power supply during summer and irrigation season and to save electricity.
The minister said that this decision has been taken for three months for the time being; however, this time can be adjusted in discussions with businessmen before Eid-ul-Adha. Business leaders assured to comply with the government’s decisions. They also presented some recommendations and demands to the government.
The minister requested the government to provide temporary support to the traders and discussed their demands.
The minister also said that as per the decision taken by the cabinet, government institutions have taken various initiatives and all necessary measures are being taken. Everyone should come forward to save electricity and energy to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the summer and irrigation seasons.
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit were also present at the meeting.
