An important courtesy call and meeting was held between opposition members of parliament with the Chief Whip of the Bangladesh National Parliament, Md. Nurul Islam, MP. The meeting was held on Monday (March 9, 2026) at the Chief Whip’s office in the Parliament Building.



A three-member delegation led by Opposition Chief Whip Md. Nahid Islam participated in the meeting. The other members of the delegation were Md. Rafiqul Islam Khan, MP; Md. Abul Hasnat, MP; and Md. Nurul Islam, MP.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed and fruitful discussions with the aim of building consensus on important national issues in the current political context of the country. The discussions emphasized on making parliamentary activities more dynamic and participatory in the national interest.
At that time, the Chief Whip of the ruling party, Md. Nurul Islam, said, “We are committed to ensuring the effective participation of the opposition party in every activity of the parliament in the government formed by BNP under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.” He expressed hope that this meeting with the Chief Whip of the opposition party will play an important role in revitalizing the parliament.
