Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan has called on the wealthy of the society to extend a helping hand so that the poor people of the hills can celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in a festive atmosphere.
The minister made this call while distributing Iftar and Eid items among the poor people in Rangamati on Tuesday (March 3, 2026).
Dipen Dewan said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has started working for the welfare of all the people of the country. Under his instructions, the process of delivering family cards to the real beneficiaries across the country is underway. The minister directed the administration to be vigilant to ensure that every poor family gets a family card.
Regarding communal harmony in the hills, the minister said that all the hill-Bengali communities living in the hills have been living in harmony and harmony for a long time. He expressed his hope that in the future, social festivals of all communities can be celebrated more universally by keeping this harmony intact.
BNP leader Manas Mukul Chakma, prominent businessman Sahab Uddin, mosque imam Maulana Harun, Hafez Md. Afsar Uddin and local dignitaries were present during the distribution of Iftar and Eid items, among others.
