The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) held a meeting with the Working Committee of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) on Sunday (December 14, 2025) on the proposed amendments to the Insurance Act, 2010.
The meeting, chaired by IDRA Chairman Dr. M Aslam Alam, was attended by three members of the five-member Working Committee nominated by BIA. They were Adiba Rahman, First Vice President of BIA, Tayef Bin Yusuf, Executive Committee Member, and Rizwan Ur Rahman, Vice Chairman of Eastland Insurance Limited. IDRA members were present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the review and proposals prepared by the BIA Technical Committee on the revised draft of the Insurance Act, 2010.
