He reached the scene at 3:30 pm on Friday (January 16) and held a brief press briefing for the journalists present there.

During the visit, the Jamaat Ameer expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims of the fire and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He said that such accidents are very painful and sad. The concerned authorities must play a responsible role in making the building security system and firefighting system more effective, strong and accountable to avoid such tragic incidents in the future.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further said that it is not only the government’s responsibility to stand by the families affected by the accident, but people from all walks of life should also come forward from a humanitarian perspective.
He was accompanied by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader Principal Ashraful Haque, 10-party alliance candidate for Dhaka-18 parliamentary constituency and NCP leader Mr. Ariful Islam Adeeb, along with other party leaders.
After the inspection, the Ameer-e-Jamaat visited the scene and spoke to the victims and inquired about them.
