A reception was held at the Vatican Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday (September 11, 2025) evening, hosted by Apostolic Nuncio His Excellency Archbishop Kevin Randall.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar participated in the event. He formally handed over the congratulatory message sent to the Pope by Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to the Vatican Ambassador. The congratulatory message expressed the hope for mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, building a just society and working together for the benefit of global humanity between Muslim and Christian communities.
Diplomats, political leaders and prominent figures from civil society from different countries were present at the event. During the event, the Jamaat Secretary General exchanged greetings with various representatives of the diplomatic community and expressed hope that such initiatives would play an important role in improving mutual relations and establishing global peace.
In addition, Jamaat’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan was also present at the event.
