Jessore District BNP distributed 1,750 saplings in Jessore on the occasion of BNP’s 47th founding anniversary. These saplings were distributed among the leaders and activists of 15 unions of Sadar Upazila at the party office premises in Laldighi on Monday (September 1, 2025) at 11:30 am.
Jessore District BNP President Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu presided over the program. BNP National Executive Committee Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum was present as the chief guest. The party’s Khulna Divisional Organizing Secretary Anindya Islam Amit was the special guest. Leaders of various levels of Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal were also present at the program.
At the sapling distribution program, chief guest Professor Nargis Begum said that Ziaur Rahman formed the Bangladesh Nationalist Party due to the need of the time. He was a true patriot, who not only declared independence but also took part in the war with arms. Because of his strong leadership, the people of the country still remember him with respect.
He said, on November 7, 1975, when the country was immersed in extreme instability, Ziaur Rahman came to power with the trust and support of the common people. Under his leadership, stability returned to the country. The idea of tree plantation and afforestation among the villagers started with the hands of Shaheed Zia. This sapling distribution program in Jessore is a continuation of that.
After the sapling distribution, saplings of fruit, forest and medicinal species were handed over to the union level leaders and activists.
