Expressing deep grief over the death of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The grief over the passing of the uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia is irreparable, which the nation will never be able to fill.”
He said this at a briefing organized at Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday (December 30, 2025) morning.
Mirza Fakhrul said in an emotional voice, “We never thought that we would have to stand before you with this news. We had hoped this time too, that she would recover just like before.”
He also said, “We are announcing with a very heavy heart that our ‘mother of democracy’ and guardian of the nation left us at 6 am today. This grief, this loss, is extraordinary, irreparable. This nation will never be able to fill it.”
