On Thursday, January 8, 2026, a preparatory meeting was held in Gazipur’s Konabari Thana, Kashimpur Thana and Basan Thana BNP and allied organizations to pray for the forgiveness of the soul of former three-time Prime Minister, uncompromising leader of democracy, late Begum Khaleda Zia, and on the occasion of the upcoming visit of BNP Acting Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman to North Bengal.
Alhaj Kaza Sayedul Alam Babul, Organizing Secretary of Dhaka Division BNP, was present as the chief guest at the meeting.
BNP’s Joint Labor Affairs Secretary Md. Humayun Kabir Khan, BNP National Executive Committee Member Dr. Mazharul Alam and Gazipur-1 MP candidate Mayor Mojibur Rahman.
Gazipur-2 MP candidate and Gazipur Metropolitan BNP General Secretary M. Manjurul Karim Rony were present as the main speaker at the meeting.
Gazipur Metropolitan BNP President Shawkat Hossain Sarkar presided over the meeting, which was also attended by leaders and activists of the metropolitan and police station level BNP and its associate organizations.
At the end of the meeting, special prayers and prayers were held for the forgiveness of the soul of the late Begum Khaleda Zia.
