A preparatory meeting has been organized by the Rangamati District Administration to celebrate Sharadiya Durga Puja, one of the religious festivals of the Sanatan Dharma followers.
On Wednesday (September 17), at 11:30 am, this preparatory meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Ruhul Amin at the conference room of the District Commissioner.
This time, Durga Puja will be held in a total of 45 puja mandap in Rangamati.
Local Government Deputy Director Md. Mobarak Hossain said in the meeting that this time, Durga Puja will be celebrated in a festive atmosphere while maintaining communal harmony in Rangamati. He advised everyone to be vigilant to avoid any unpleasant incidents during the puja and to prevent all kinds of rumors. He requested people to refrain from spreading any information on social media or any other medium without confirmation.
He also said that a monitoring cell will be formed to ensure the security of the puja mandap, consisting of representatives of the administration, police, law enforcement agencies and civil society.
Representatives of the law and order and intelligence department informed the meeting that all puja mandap will be kept under intelligence surveillance. It was also informed that the police mobile team will be on duty. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said that various steps have been taken to ensure the security of the border puja mandap.

Anisur Rahman, BNP President Dipan Talukder, Deputy Director of the District Information Office Rahul Banik, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjavan Parishad Swapan Kanti Mahajan, President of Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist Christian Unity Council Arup Kumar, Convener of the Autumn Durgotsav Coordination Committee Varun Kanti Dey, Convener of Bangladesh Puja Udjavan Front Nandita Das and representatives of the District Puja Udjavan Committee were present.
