Although he announced that he would participate in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, did not say whether he would resign before the announcement of the schedule. He said that his resignation will be announced from the office of the Chief Advisor.
At an emergency press conference at the Secretariat today, Wednesday (December 10, 2025), Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan outlined various tasks taken by the two ministries under him.
He said, “I will vote, that is clear. But where I will do it, from which party; that will be announced later.”
In response to a question from journalists whether he would resign before the announcement of the schedule, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said, “My resignation will be announced from the office of the Chief Advisor. I have to follow the instructions from above. “Therefore, it is not possible to provide further details on this matter.”
