South Korean Ambassador holds farewell meeting with Trade Advisor

South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik held a farewell meeting with Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin. The meeting was held in the Trade Advisor’s office room at the Secretariat on Wednesday (17 December 2025) afternoon. The meeting discussed in detail the improvement of bilateral trade relations and increase in investment.

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin congratulated the ambassador on successfully completing his term and expressed his sincere gratitude for the unwavering cooperation of the South Korean government towards Bangladesh.

He said that the relations between Bangladesh and South Korea are friendly and multidimensional. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries have been moving forward on the basis of mutual trade cooperation and development. In the future, this relationship will be further accelerated through increased trade and investment.

Ambassador Park Young-sik said that the Korea-Bangladesh relationship is based on mutual trust, strong economic cooperation, and a common vision for world peace and prosperity.

He noted that Korean investment in Bangladesh’s manufacturing and infrastructure sectors is continuously increasing, while trade volume is constantly increasing significantly. He expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh government for its overall cooperation during his tenure in Bangladesh.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce for Export Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary FTA Ayesha Akhter, and First Secretary of the Korean Embassy Lee Nam-soo were present at the event.
