Tareque Rahman, acting chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP and main patron of ‘Amra BNP Paribas’, has taken charge of the treatment of Nazneen, the disabled daughter of Nasir Mandal, a helpless daily wage worker of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah. For 13 years, the ailing Nazneen has been spending her days chained to her house; due to financial hardship, her family was unable to get any treatment.
On Friday (November 14, 2025), a delegation of ‘Amra BNP Paribas’ visited Nasir Mandal’s house in Anandanagar village of Tribeni union of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah, inquired about the family and provided assistance.

BNP Central Treasurer and ‘Amra BNP Paribas’ advisor M Rashiduzzaman Millat were present as the chief guest in this humanitarian program. He handed over medical aid to Nazneen’s father Nasir Mandal on behalf of the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman and conveyed Tarique Rahman’s message of sympathy to the family.
Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman was present as a special guest at the event.
In addition, ‘Amra BNP Paribas’ member secretary, agriculturalist Mokchedul Momin Mithun inquired about Nazneen’s overall condition and assured that he would be by the family’s side in the future.
Also present at this humanitarian initiative were – Jahidul Islam Rony, member of the managing committee of the National Press Club, Masud Rana Liton, Farhad Ali Sajeeb, former general secretary of BUET Chhatra Dal Engineer Abu Hanif, Banani Thana BNP leader Saiyam Sikandar Khan Pappu; Besides, Jhenaidah District BNP President Advocate MA Majid, District BNP Vice President Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu, Senior Joint Secretary Abdul Majid, Shailkupa Upazila BNP President Abul Hossain, Shailkupa Municipality BNP President Selim Reza Thandu, Nationalist Chhatra Dal Central Joint General Secretary Raju Ahmed, Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo Dal member Sohel Khan and others were present. It is worth noting that 18-year-old Nazneen has been suffering from mental and physical disabilities for a long time. Nasir Mandal and his wife Bulbuli Begum are spending their days in great hardship with their two children, including their mentally disabled brother Jobair. When the helpless condition of the family came to light, Tarique Rahman stood by them from a humanitarian perspective.
