Information and Broadcasting Advisor Md. Mahfuz Alam and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry and Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan submitted their resignation letters to Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus at 5 pm on Wednesday (10 December 2025).


The advisors submitted their resignation letters at the State Guest House Jamuna, and the Chief Adviser accepted them. Their resignations will be effective as soon as the Election Commission announces the schedule.


After accepting the resignation letters of these two student leaders, who led from the front lines in the July mass uprising, the Chief Adviser wished them well in their future lives and said, “The nation will remember the way you contributed to liberating the nation from fascist rule by leading the uprising.” I believe that you will play a similarly active role in the democratic transition and development in the future as well.’

The Chief Adviser further said, today is a historic day. The interim government will always remember your contribution. I wish you a bright and prosperous future. The nation will never forget what you have given to the nation in such a short time. He said, this is just a transformation. I hope that you will make even greater contributions in the larger arena in the future.
Urging the two student leaders to be engaged in the welfare of the country through their work, the Chief Adviser further said to them, ‘The experience you have gained from the government must be used in your future life.
