On Friday (April 17, 2026) at 9 pm, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam, MP, announced the inauguration of the Road to Makkah for Hajj pilgrims. State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP and Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E Dr Abdullah ibn Dhafer ibn Ubayya were present.
After the inauguration, the Minister exchanged floral greetings with the Hajj pilgrims and sought their blessings.
It is worth noting that the “Road to Makkah” or Makkah Route Initiative is a special initiative launched by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, through which the immigration, passport verification and health check-up of the Hajj pilgrims are completed from their own countries.
