A 3-member investigation committee has been formed into the death of 6 children in a ward of the Ad-Din Medical College Hospital located in the capital’s Moghbazar. The committee includes officials from the Health Department and CID.
After visiting the hospital on Wednesday (May 27, 2026), Director General of the Directorate General of Health, Professor Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas gave this information.
He said that the formed investigation committee has been instructed to investigate the cause of the incident and submit a report within the next 72 hours. In addition, as a precautionary measure, the activities of the post-operative ward and NICU of the hospital have been ordered to be temporarily closed.
There has been concern and anxiety among the parents regarding the incident. The Directorate General of Health said that necessary measures will be taken based on the investigation report.
Earlier, the incident of the death of 6 children simultaneously while undergoing treatment in a ward of the hospital came to light. Members of the administration, health department, and law enforcement are working on the issue.
