At least 15 people, including Gono Odhikar Parishad spokesperson Faruk Hasan, were injured in a passenger bus accident in Parbatipur, Dinajpur. The accident occurred in the Ambari area of the upazila early on Sunday (August 24, 2025).
Gono Odhikar Parishad spokesperson Faruk Hasan went on Facebook live after the accident and said that the bus carrying them lost control in the morning and fell into a pond on the side of the road. Almost all the passengers were injured in some way.
He also said that he himself was injured. He said on the live broadcast that our car was the victim of a terrible accident. The driver may have fallen asleep. That is why the car lost control. He also said that efforts are being made to rescue all the injured.
Locals said that the bus was moving at a fast pace and suddenly lost control and fell into a pond on the side of the road. After the accident, local people quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.
Abdullah Al Mahmud, a sub-officer of the Fulbari Fire Service and Civil Defense, said, “We reached the spot after receiving the information. But before that, the locals had rescued the injured.
Arifur Rahman, in-charge of the Ambari Police Investigation Center, said that there were about 15 passengers in the bus and all of them were injured to some extent. The injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals.
