Independence and National Day celebrated in Islamabad

The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad celebrated the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh with due dignity, enthusiasm and enthusiasm. On this occasion, the embassy premises were decorated with colorful banners, festoons and posters.

In the morning, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan officially hoisted the national flag in the presence of all the officials and employees at the embassy premises. During this time, the national anthem was sung in unison.

The discussion session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Then, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the great war of independence. Messages of the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out on the occasion. A documentary on Independence Day was screened at the event.

Welcoming everyone to the event, the High Commissioner prayed for the eternal peace of all the martyrs of the great liberation war and paid deep respect to all the brave women and brave freedom fighters of the battlefield. Wishing everyone a happy Independence Day, he said that independence is the greatest achievement of the Bengali nation.

He also said that on the dark night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most brutal genocides in history on the unarmed freedom-loving people of Bangladesh under the name of ‘Operation Searchlight’. After that, the long nine-month armed liberation war began through the prevention of genocide. Everyone must unite and sincerely strive to make our independence, which was achieved at the cost of an ocean of blood, meaningful.

High Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan called on everyone to work together to glorify the sacrifices of the brave fighters of 1971. He called on everyone to work sincerely from their respective positions to build a discrimination-free, exploitation-free, happy and prosperous Bangladesh.

At the end of the discussion, special prayers and supplications were offered for the eternal peace and prosperity of the country, seeking the eternal peace of all the martyrs and heroic freedom fighters of 1971.
