Ishaq Sarkar, the former central organizing secretary of BNP’s expelled leader Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal, has officially joined the National Citizens Party (NCP). At the same event, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque’s granddaughter Fersamin Haque Iqbal (Flora), content creator Nuruzzaman Kafi, Mohiuddin Roni, who was discussed in the anti-railway irregularities movement, and later the leader of the Cultural Liberation Alliance, Maksudur Rahman Sohel, also joined the party.
They were welcomed by the party’s convener and opposition chief whip of the National Parliament, Nahid Islam, at the ‘Joining of Political Leaders and Citizens to NCP’ program organized at the IDEB Auditorium in Kakrail, the capital, on Friday (April 24, 2026) afternoon. Top leaders including Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Sarjis Alam and Spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan were present at the event.
