BNP nominated MP candidate Md. Mojibur Rahman addressed all levels of citizens of Gazipur-1 constituency ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. He sought votes in the upcoming National Parliament election on February 12 using the symbol of a sheaf of rice.
In his speech, Md. Mojibur Rahman said, “I am Md. Mojibur Rahman, the BNP nominated candidate for Gazipur-1 constituency in the upcoming National Parliament election. I seek your prayers and support and humbly request you to vote with a sheaf of rice.”
He said that on January 21, through a press conference, the type of development activities that will be carried out if elected to Gazipur-1 constituency were clearly presented to the nation. A 26-point action plan was announced in that press conference with the aim of establishing a society based on overall development of the area, human values, and justice.
The notable points in the announced action plan are—
Implementation of the 31-point plan announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and following the 19-point plan of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, planned and environment-friendly urban development, establishment of drug-terrorism and extortion-free industrial zones, development of mosques-madrasas and educational institutions, technology-based technical training and employment creation for the youth and unemployed, and ensuring women’s rights and making them self-reliant.
He also highlighted various developmental initiatives including an improved and practical education system, involvement of expatriates and industrialists in the development of the area, ensuring clean water and sanitation, construction of modern dumping stations and treatment plants for waste management, rehabilitation of the poor and helpless population, good worker-owner relations, reopening of closed factories and attracting foreign investment, alleviating waterlogging, 100% electricity-water-gas supply, development of healthcare, expansion of free medical and ambulance services.
Md. Mujibur Rahman further said, “If elected, I will stand by the people of Gazipur-1 constituency in all its joys and sorrows for the next five years with honesty, dedication and sincerity. My main commitment will be to ensure political coexistence, justice, and the rights of minorities and all religious followers.”
Finally, he said, “You will remember me and our symbol, the sheaf of rice, until the 12th. If elected, God willing, I will transform Gazipur-1 constituency into a modern, humane and developed constituency.”
