The second day of the “Baishakhi Children’s Festival 2026” organized by the Serov Academy of Fine Arts, one of the country’s renowned cultural educational institutions established in 1989, was held in a joyful, colorful and festive atmosphere.

Since its establishment, the Serov Academy of Fine Arts has been working tirelessly to develop the creative talents of children and adolescents. Every year, the academy organizes national and international day-centered painting competitions, art exhibitions, cultural festivals, workshops and training programs to develop the talents of students, increase their confidence and showcase themselves on a global scale.

On the first day of the festival, Friday (April 24, 2026), the activities began with children’s painting, music and beautiful handwriting competitions in 3 age groups, in which more than two hundred students of the academy participated. On the second day, a day-long Baisakhi fair was held and in the afternoon, the festival concluded with a formal atmosphere with cultural programs, magic shows, and the presentation of certificates and prizes to all participants.

Internationally renowned artist Alia Sultana Linalais, who currently lives and works in the UK and Hungary, was present as the chief guest at the event. She said in her speech, “Such an event is very important in the creative development of children and its role in building the foundation of international standard art practice is undeniable.”

Prashant Kumar Barman, the founding director of the academy, and Syed Bazlul Hasan, the director, were present as special guests. In their speeches, they highlighted the long journey, successes and future plans of the academy.

At the beginning of the program, the guests were warmly welcomed by young artists with flowers and Uttariya. Later, the guests highlighted the importance of such events to promote children’s creativity, artistic practice and cultural consciousness.

In the first phase, a fascinating cultural performance was held with the participation of children. In this, a variety of performances of collective music, recitation, group and solo dances captivated the audience. Notable performances included “Eso He Baishakh”, “Ajab Deshre Dhanya Raja” and “Dhandhanya Pushpabhara”. In addition, young dancers performed “Aay Teb Sahachari, Hate Hate Dhari Dhari” and solo dances “Baishakher Bikel Bela” and “Nesha Lagil Re”.
In the second phase, the country’s renowned magician Shaheen Shah presented his attractive magic show. In the last phase of the program, certificates were given to all the participants and prizes were distributed to the winners. The organizing authorities said that such events will continue in the future as well.
