Prominent journalist and media personality Md. Amarat Hossain Shohag is no more. He breathed his last at 2:53 pm today, Monday (April 27, 2026) while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajeun).
The late Amarat Hossain Shohag worked as a journalist for Bangladesh Television (BTV) for a long time. He served as the editor of the daily Swadesh Pratidin newspaper. He also played an important role as the publisher and editor of the daily Dhaka Dialogue newspaper. He was also the publisher of the weekly Dhaka Media newspaper and gained fame as a popular program and advertisement producer on various television channels. During his career, he was also known as a successful entrepreneur and was a GB member of FBCCI.
His funeral prayers will be held today after Isha at Tejkunipara, Tejgaon North Railway Colony Jame Mosque.
