Diplomatic Desk:
French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet paid a courtesy call on Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain at the Secretariat on Monday (June 15, 2026).
During the meeting, both sides discussed various issues to further expand bilateral cooperation in public health, research and the health sector. In particular, the French Ambassador reiterated France’s continued support to Bangladesh in addressing emerging health challenges.

Ambassador Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet welcomed the Health Minister’s upcoming visit to participate in the high-level “One Health and Beyond” meeting to be held in Paris on June 25 and appreciated Bangladesh’s involvement in this initiative.
It is worth noting that the “One Health and Beyond” initiative has been adopted as a continuation of the One Health Summit held in France in April 2026. Its goal is to further strengthen the concept of ‘One Health’, integrating human health, animal health and environmental sustainability, and ensure its effective integration into global policymaking frameworks, including the UN Climate Change Conference (COP) process.
