BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem hands over six police vans to Home Affairs Advisor

BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem has handed over six police vans to Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

The police vans were handed over by BKMEA to facilitate the operations of Narayanganj District Police and Industrial Police-4.

On this occasion, Honorable Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the program organized at the BKMEA head office in Narayanganj on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Md. Khoda Baksh Chowdhury was present as the special guest. BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem presided over the program.

Also present at the event were Industrial Police Chief (Additional IGP) Gazi Jasim Uddin, DIG, Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallick, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Md. Raihan Kabir, Industrial Police-04 Chief, Additional DIG Mohammad Asaduzzaman and Superintendent of Police, Narayanganj Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi along with various senior government officials.

Among the BKMEA board members present at the event were Executive President Fazle Shamim Ehsan, Senior Vice President Amal Poddar, Vice President (Finance) Morshed Sarwar Sohel, Vice President Md. Shamsuzzaman, Ashiqur Rahman, Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, Mohammad Rashed, Md. Jamal Uddin Mia, Md. Abdul Hannan, Khandaker Saiful Islam, Mohammad Zakaria Wahid, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Md. Shahriar Sayeed, Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Md. Mohsin Rabbani, Md. Moniruzzaman, members of BKMEA and prominent people of Narayanganj.

In his speech as the chief guest, Honorable Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that such a great initiative of BKMEA (providing 06 vehicles) will play a helpful role in maintaining the law and order situation in the Narayanganj region. In addition, the Industrial Police will not have to rush to take immediate action to deal with any situation, including labor dissatisfaction in the industrial factories. For this, he expressed gratitude to the current board including the President of BKMEA on behalf of the government. He expected that such support from BKMEA will continue in the future.

BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem expressed hope that the police vans handed over by BKMEA will expedite the activities of Narayanganj District Police and Industrial Police.

He said that the country’s largest knitwear export is from Narayanganj. Therefore, ensuring security and law and order in this area is very important. BKMEA is happy to be able to cooperate with the police administration in this work. He believes that everyone’s participation in such mutual cooperation is necessary to establish a safe and business-friendly society.

He also praised and expressed gratitude to the responsible officers of the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Industrial Police and Army of the region for maintaining the law and order situation in the Narayanganj Industrial Area since August 5.
