A colorful reception ceremony organized by the Mathurapara B.K. High School Alumni Association turned into a gathering of souls. The Honorable Member of Parliament from Bogra-1 (Sariakandi-Sonatala) constituency, Alhajj Kazi Rafiqul Islam, MP, was present as the chief guest at the ceremony.
The school premises became lively with the respectful presence of the Honorable Member of Parliament. The entire campus was filled with a festive atmosphere with the spontaneous participation of old and present students. Many became emotional after meeting their beloved guardians and former students.
The ceremony was presided over by the President of the Alumni Association, agriculturist Md. Mozaffar Rahman (retired director, Department of Agricultural Extension). Special guests included agricultural expert Sushant Pramanik (retired additional secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare), school headmaster, chairman of the management committee Kazi Erfanur Rahman Rentu, principal Professor Belal Hossain (Government Mujibur Rahman Bhandari Women’s College) and chairman of Karnibari Union Anwar Hossain Dipan, along with other prominent figures.
Also present were Alumni Association General Secretary Mr. Shahidul Islam, Joint General Secretary Mr. AHM Mofizul Islam, Organizing Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam Diju and Finance Secretary Jabed Akhter Zipu, along with other leaders.
One of the highlights of the program was the distribution of scholarships among poor and meritorious students by the Honorable Member of Parliament and the presentation of crests to meritorious students.
The alumni members said in their speech,
“Honorable MP, you are our guardian, inspiration and guide. We are committed to always work by your side to make your visionary leadership’s development ideas a reality, InshaAllah.”
In the speech of the chief guest, the Honorable Member of Parliament created an emotional atmosphere by reminiscing about his beloved school. He wished the overall success of the school and the alumni association and emphasized the collective role of everyone in building a drug-free society and a developed Bangladesh.
The presence of about 450-500 alumni members at the event created a unique gathering atmosphere, which is hoped to further accelerate the alumni activities in the future.
Finally, the honorable Member of Parliament Alhajj Kazi Rafiqul Islam, MP, was prayed to Almighty Allah for good health, long life and overall development and prosperity of the country.
