A exchange of views meeting has been held at the initiative of Dhaka District Police to prevent drugs, terrorism, extortion and eve teasing and to maintain law and order in the area.
On Wednesday (June 24, 2026), the meeting organized at Jamgarh Fantasy Kingdom area of Ashulia was attended by Dr. Dewan Md. Salauddin Babu, Member of Parliament for Dhaka-19 (Savar-Ashulia) constituency, as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parveen.
Local public representatives, members of law enforcement agencies, dignitaries, teachers, guardians and representatives of the youth participated in the exchange of views meeting. The speakers emphasized on increasing public awareness about the dangers of drugs and terrorism, keeping the youth away from crime and taking joint initiatives to prevent extortion and eve teasing.
The speakers at the meeting said that in order to build a safe and crime-free society, the active participation of the general public along with the law enforcement agencies is necessary. People from every level of society are urged to be aware and work together against crime.
They also said that there is no alternative to collective efforts to establish a peaceful and safe society. Families, educational institutions and local people must play a more responsible role in preventing drugs, terrorism, juvenile gangs and social crimes.
At the end of the meeting, several important decisions were taken to keep the area crime-free and safe.
Meanwhile, with the aim of improving the law and order situation, controlling juvenile gangs and further strengthening anti-drug activities, The Rose Garments and Skyling Garments authorities gifted two vehicles to the Jamgara Police Camp. Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parveen formally accepted the two vehicles.
The concerned expressed the hope that such initiatives will play an effective role in further improving the law and order situation at the local level and controlling crime.
