The newly appointed High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, has presented his credentials to President Md. Shahabuddin.
He presented his credentials to the President at a formal ceremony held at Bangabhaban in the capital on Thursday (June 25, 2026). This information was given in a notification sent from Bangabhaban.
Dinesh Trivedi has assumed charge as the 18th High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. Earlier, he served as the Railway Minister in the Union Government of India. He is also known as a former Member of Parliament from Barrackpore constituency in West Bengal and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The Indian government appointed him as the High Commissioner to Bangladesh in April last year. He will serve in this post in place of outgoing High Commissioner Pranay Verma.
