Bangladesh and Australia have discussed further expanding cooperation to strengthen social protection systems. Recently, Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Susan Ryle paid a courtesy call on Minister for Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Abu Zafar Md Zahid Hossain.

In the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building an inclusive society where the safety, well-being and opportunities of all people are ensured. They discussed in detail important issues such as preventing violence against women, expanding skills development and training programs, and keeping children safe online.
Australian High Commissioner Susan Ryle said that a strong social protection system is the foundation of a society that ensures the well-being of all its people. She highlighted the common commitment that exists between Bangladesh and Australia in this regard.
The meeting also exchanged views on the possibilities of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of women and child welfare, social security, and human resource development.
