The 2026 Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams began simultaneously across the country today, Thursday (July 2, 2026).
This year’s exams began with the Bangla First Paper (Compulsory) exam at 10 am. The first day of the exam will continue until 1 pm.
This year, a total of 12 lakh 70 thousand 583 candidates from 9,439 educational institutions in the country are taking part in the exam at 2,697 centers.
The Ministry of Education has said that all the exam centers in the country have been brought under CCTV surveillance to ensure the transparency and fair environment of the exam.
Meanwhile, an important change has been made in this year’s HSC exam. According to the Ministry of Education, for the first time, the exam is being held in the country’s nine general education boards with a common question paper. Earlier, each general education board used to conduct the exam in its own question paper.
