Islami Bank and Power Development Board Sign Corporate Agreement

A corporate agreement has been signed between Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to make prepaid electricity meter recharge services more accessible and accessible for customers.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Bidyut Bhaban in the capital on Thursday (July 2, 2026).

Under the agreement, prepaid electricity meter recharge services of Bangladesh Power Development Board can be completed in phases through all branches, sub-branches, agent outlets of Islami Bank and the bank’s digital platforms CellFin, iSmart and mCash apps. As a result, customers will get the facility of recharging electricity bills on prepaid meters more easily and quickly.

Mohammad Nurul Absar, General Manager (Commercial Operations) of Bangladesh Power Development Board, was present as the chief guest at the event.

Additional Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC Dr. M. Kamal Uddin Jasim and Director of Pre-paid Metering System Directorate of Bangladesh Power Development Board Md. Ziaur Rahman signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Islami Bank Executive Vice President Md. Majnuzzaman, Assistant Vice President A.N.M. Tauhidul Islam and senior officials of both the organizations were present at the event.
